Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology (AT) is an umbrella term that can include assistive, adaptive and rehabilitative devices for people living with a disability. This also includes the process used in selecting, locating, and using AT.  It can be any piece of equipment that aids in the completion of an otherwise complicated task.

  • Public Awareness Activities - Information and referral which educates consumers, via phone, email or letter, about their choices of AT devices and services; AT exhibits and presentations at conferences, group meetings, staff in-services, and other events; Training and Technical Assistance
  • Access and Acquisition of Assistive Technology Services
    • ATLL - Assistive Technology Lending Library (try out a device)
    • TDDP - Telecommunications Device Distribution Program (free phones to those who qualify)
  • Equipment Reutilization
    • A New Start - a device recycle program located at:
