Office Closed to the Public

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020

Updated 3.20.2020

This notice remains in effect until further notice.

As we provide life-sustaining services, we will continue to provide our services as directed below. The modifications we have implemented to date are for the protection of our staff and the people we serve.

With a significant portion of our population being susceptible (aging and/or disabilities affecting their immune system) the Center for Independent Living of North Central PA believes it is necessary to take measures to protect our consumers, staff and the general public for their health and safety is our utmost concern. In an effort to keep consumer health and safety a priority, we are closing public access to our office and requesting our members/participants to communicate over the phone, by email or through other webinar-like platforms whenever possible. We will be operating on an emergency visit basis. Our walk-in policy has been suspended until further notice. As this epidemic continues, we may have to adjust accordingly especially with a significant portion of our population being susceptible (aging and/or disabilities affecting their immune system).

We’re closely monitoring the situation and know that misinformation and fear can spread more quickly than the virus itself, and we want to discourage false information from circulating. If you’re looking for trusted, up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the specific coronavirus website of the Centers for Disease Control at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov.

Further direction with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic will be addressed as needed and we will continue to update you as our day-to-day operations change.

Thank you

Wheelchair Basketball and Craft & Vendor Fair POSTPONED

UPDATE

Wheelchair Basketball and Craft & Vendor Fair

Due to the continually increasing number of COVID-19 cases and our concern for the health and safety of our community, we are postponing our events originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020, to a date yet to be determined. We are still moving forward with plans for this event, however, we do not know the make-up date.

Please continue to follow our Facebook page and Twitter feed as we will be updating them with more details. If you were a scheduled vendor, you should have already received an email from us this morning with details moving forward.

We have been closely following the situation and actively advocating for policy responses that support the specific needs of the disability community.

As much as we are saddened to have to postpone this event, we know the extra time we have to continue planning will be setting us up for the biggest event to date.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding in this matter.
